Today was my first day of work at my new job as a Web Systems Analyst at The Bakersfield Californian. I will be working on web related projects and doing other software development as needed. Everyone at the paper has been great and the work environment is awesome. Everyone is really open to my ideas and my suggestions seem to be genuinely valued. There is no shortage of interesting ideas being kicked around as future projects, so I am really looking forward to the coming opportunities to apply my skills. I also get to run Linux at work, which is a big plus!
Congratulations on your new job, welcome to the real world. We’re very proud of you buddy boy. You didn’t tell them your last name right?? 😉

So far no one has mentioned Uncle Mike or Uncle Steve, so I think I am in the clear. The Bakersfield Californian probably has a policy against discriminating against employees whose Uncles like to be in the paper. Anyways, so far no one has seemed to be very political and my department has better things to worry about… computer systems and software! 🙂

Woo Hoo Congrats! Now 2/3 of the land children are employed…only 1/3 to go!

Woops…meant ‘Ladd’ children, not ‘land’…I guess that’s why I’m not employed (Jessie said that)

Nicely put! Of course, if I were blogging about my first day on the job, I would say it was great no matter what — just in case some of those people were reading my blog (not that that ever happens) 😉
But seriously, we’re ecstatic that you’re on board and looking forward to accomplishing truly great things with you!
