The first day of kindergarten at Turtleback Elementary School seems to have been just as hard on the parents as the kids. Every parent was struggling with the anxiety of letting their baby go and the chaos of trying to get their little one to line up for class.

It was tough for me to believe that my little guy was embarking on 17+ years of education. Gavin was excited; we were nervous if he would make it through the day. But, it was time to push him out of the nest to see if he could fly.

When we came back 4 hours later to pick him up he tried to put on a strong face but then lost it. He was beyond exhausted and was in his “wandering lost” mode. But, he made it though the day and was excited to go back. There is lots of routine for Gavin to get use too, when he is so use to doing his own thing, but each day will get easier.

Gavin started 2nd grade in Mrs. Hiel’s class. Connor gets to spend 3 days a week in Mrs Patwa’s preschool class. Both boys were very excited to start school at Turtleback Elementary.

We were up bright and early for the first day of school. Connor was super excited to start his day in Mrs. Flinn’s class. Gavin was also excited to see all his friends and start 3rd grade in Ms. Namdar’s class. I have a feeling we are going to have a great school year!

My boys were super excited to start school, so they could see all their friends again. Gavin is starting 4th grade with Mrs Bivin. Connor is a big 1st grader and has Mrs Dastrup. I’m sure we are all going to have a great year!

Gavin has Mrs Leslie this year and Connor has Mrs Brokaw. I’m sure we’ll have another great school year!

It’s hard to believe Gavin is already in middle school, starting 6th grade at Oak Valley. Connor is excited to be in Mrs Cunningham’s class for 3rd grade this year at Turtleback. Have a great school year boys!

School is taking on our couch this year, due to the Covid pandemic. We still ran the kids by their schools so we could get a photo.

Summer is officially over. Connor has Mr “B” (Betschel) for 5th grade, and Gavin is back at Oak Valley for 8th. Both are kings of the campus this year.

Both boys get to start new chapters today, with Connor going off to Oak Valley Middle School and Gavin starting at Del Norte High School. Have a great school year boys!
