The boys played a little catch before the ceremonies started. Then we finished off the Little League season with a parade of teams and lots of food.

Gavin and the rest of the 4S Padres team are the 2022 Little League District 31 Juniors champions! It was a hard-fought game, but they ended up victorious against their friends on the other 4S Ranch team, with a final score of 8 to 5.

Connor played his heart out, and made some great plays out in the field. But the Orioles just hit the ball better than the Royals, and ended up winning 12 to 6. Unfortunately, this was the Royals second loss so they are out of the championship tournament.

The boys got to parade around the field before the game, even getting put up on the giant scoreboard. The Padres beat the Pirates 4 to 2.

Connor and the rest of the band have really improved since their first concert. Great job Connor!

Connor got to share his birthday with Mother’s Day this year, just like the day he was born. He opened his presents in the morning, getting a cool microscope and a giant box of baseball cards. He finally pulled a Wander Franco rookie card, which he has been trying to get since the card series came out.

We spent the rest of the day at a Birthday/Mother’s Day party down at Kristel’s house. The boys had a blast swimming with all their cousins and some of Jesse’s side of the family. Towards the end of the day, we sang to Connor and all ate cake.

Connor made some good plays at 3rd and 2nd base, and got some hits. The Royals won 9 to 2.

Gavin pitched 3 innings of no-hit baseball, including 3 strikeouts. He was going to pitch the 4th inning, but our team scored 13 runs the inning before, so his arm got cold.

Another teammate finished out the 4th inning, giving up a few runs, but it was still good enough for us to mercy rule the Escondido American Rays with a final score of 20 to 2.

It was a fun filled 14th birthday for Gavin. He started his day opening his presents. The big box of parts is a foosball table, his favorite game besides baseball.

We spent the early afternoon playing a full 36 holes of miniature golf. We finished with just enough time to run home and get Connor to his baseball game.

Gavin finished off his birthday with a dinner of Marco’s pizza and some birthday brownies.

We spent a full 3 days at Knott’s Berry Farm, riding the rides, figuring out what a boysenberry tastes like, and standing in lots and lots of lines.

We started off our Spring Break trip by watching the Angels play the Astros. Unfortunately, the Angels played like they were still on vacation, and lost 1 to 4.

Spending a lazy afternoon exploring the tide pools and walking along the ocean.

Connor is loving all the time he is getting as catcher this season. He pretty much catches the first 2 innings of every game. When not behind the plate, he is usually at 3rd base or in the outfield, because of his big arm.

On the way back down to San Diego, we stopped by Solvang for lunch and a walk around. Then went to Santa Barbara and walked on their pier.

We gave fishing a try off the Pismo pier, but it was freezing code with seriously strong gusts. The only thing biting was the seaweed. So, we went and visited the butterflies instead.
